Attorney Robert Kraus graduated from Bates College, Lewiston, Maine (studying at Manchester College, Oxford University, Oxford, England during his junior year), graduated 6th in his class, Magna cum Laude, high honors and Phi Beta Kappa. Thereafter, he worked for U.S. Senator Alan K. Simpson (Ret.) from Wyoming in Washington, D.C. - leaving to attend and graduate from Boston College Law School. After graduating from BC Law School, Attorney Kraus was named a Rotary Foundation Scholar studying at the University of Auckland in Auckland, New Zealand. After a number of years working in Boston in internationally-recognized large law firms, Attorney Kraus established his own practice in 1989, ran for and was elected State Representative for the 12th Plymouth District and served for 8 years in the Great and General Court of Massachusetts. Attorney Kraus serves as a registered lobbyist for his clients as well, depending on their needs. Attorney Anne A. Hummel graduated from Mount Holyoke College, Suffolk University with her law degree and a Masters Degree in Tax from Boston University School of Law. Attorney Hummel worked in private practice, including as assistant counsel to the Tedeschi Food Shops and then was called upon by Governor William Weld to join his administration serving as Assistant Secretary of Consumer Affairs and in other legal and administrative capacities within his administration.
Attorneys Kraus and Hummel, husband and wife, started Kraus & Hummel LLP over 20 years ago and they continue to work and live together to provide the services our clients have come to trust and expect.

Attorney Kraus practiced in large international law and then in 1989 established his own practice. His practice consists of administrative and civil litigation, from initiation through complex trials, at all levels in Massachusetts, including personal injury matters. Attorney Kraus has an extensive practice in business transactions, real estate development and permitting, administrative law, domestic relations and other like matters. Attorney Kraus is a registered lobbyist in Massachusetts.
